Screen Shot 2015-08-18 at 3.09.54 AMJust a couple of notes:  For 2017 the Saturday post is changed from “Sabbath” to “Prelude to Prayer.”

The goal of the Saturday post is to read Scripture, learn an aspect of prayer, and wait upon the Triune GOD by recalling in a few attributes of Him.

The week’s posts will include:

Saturday: Prelude to Prayer

Tuesday: Adoration

Wednesday: Confession

Thursday: Thanksgiving

Friday: Supplication

“May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance” (2 Thes 3:5 NIV).

The second note is about all the prayers on Tuesday – Friday that are written in verse.  Not only can they be read, but also sung.

“When we worship, Christ is not only the audience of our songs, but through his Spirit he is also the singer (Eph 5:18-20)” Bryan Chapell (ref#66, p88).

Think about that for a moment. Us, joining the SPIRIT to sing to the FATHER and the SON!

To let the SPIRIT have His freedom, I have suggested an open-ended way of singing.  With each post that is written in verse, an 8-measure chord progression is included at the top of the page to be used for accompaniment. By playing two chords in 4/4 time for each line sung means the entire progression is played every set of four lines, and then repeated.

“Sing to the Lord, O you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name”(Ps 30:4 AMP). “…we delight to praise what we enjoy because the praise not merely expresses but completes the enjoyment; it is its appointed consummation” C. S. Lewis (ref#130, p201).
