Prayer Facts:

“Our early training, the teaching of the Church, the influence of habit, the stirring of the emotions—how easily these lead to prayer which has no spiritual power, and avails but little….True prayer…must be to the glory of God, in full surrender to His will, in full assurance of faith, in the name of Jesus, and with a perseverance that, if need be, refuses to be denied. All this must be learned” (ref#19, FIRST LESSON).

Reasons for Waiting for GOD:

Because You have separated me from the peoples that I should be Yours (Lev 20:26), I will wait for You.
Because You establish Your covenant between You and me, to be a GOD to me (Gen 17:7), I will wait for You.

Because You consecrate and make me holy (Lev 22:32), I will wait for You.

Because You are the LORD who sanctifies me (Lev 20:8), I will wait for You.

Psalm 139

O LORD, you have searched me and known me (Ps 139:1)!

“You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar”
(Ps 139:2 ESV).
“For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb”
(Ps 139:13 ESV).

“You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways”
(Ps 139:3 ESV).

“Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether”
(Ps 139:4 ESV).

“You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me”
(Ps 139:5 ESV).

“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;

it is high; I cannot attain it” (Ps 139:6 ESV).

“I praise you,
for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well”
(Ps 139:14 ESV).

How precious to me
are your thoughts, O God!…
If I would count them,
they are more than the sand of the sea (Ps 139:17-18).
