INDUBITABLE

FATHER, You are the absolute highest—(ref#110, p1341)

sitting enthroned as King forever (Ps 29:10).

You are self-perpetuating—

You have indefinite continuation of Yourself (ref#110, p1218).

You are indubitable—indisputable (ref#110, p689);

in Your hand are power and might (2 Chron 20:6).

No one may question You (ref#110, p689),

none can withstand You (2 Chron 20:6).

You are magnifico—

having the highest rank (ref#110, p814).

You sit enthroned— (Ps 29:10)

ruling over all the kingdoms of the nations (2 Chron 20:6).

You can never be reduced

because You are uncurtailed (ref#110, p1453).

The announcement of Yourself is the

self-proclaimed GOD of the summit (ref#110, p1218, 1341).

CONFESSION

NOT SUCCESS BUT FAITHFULNESS

…FATHER, keep me from the desire for success. In my base nature I want You to come and revive my church, my town, my country. I want everybody to witness Your power so I can be proud of Your accomplishments—so everyone can see how wise I am to follow You. I want You to prove Who You are and what You have done for me (ref#83, p118).

But JESUS did not turn the world upside down in a great show of power. When He was on earth after performing a miracle he would not let the news be spread (Matt 9:30). He didn’t succumb to the devil’s temptation to make Him a household word (Matt 4:6). He was not interested in being admired by men.

Move me FATHER, to settle on CHRIST as my example to follow: “The one dominate note in His life was to do His Father’s will. His way was not the way of wisdom or of success, but the way of faithfulness” Oswald Chambers (ref#83, p120).

DRAWING WATER FROM THE WELL OF SALVATION

You are the MOST HIGH over all the earth;

Your name alone is the LORD (Ps 83:18).

You forever remain the same—

Your years have no end (Ps 102:27).

You, LORD, are the everlasting GOD—

Creator of the ends of the earth.

You do not faint or grow weary;

You’re never fatigued or exhausted (Isa 40:28).

There is no searching Your understanding;

You must be infinitely wise.

Your boundless skill is proved

by the works of Your hands Barnes’ Notes (ref#16, [Isa 40:28]).

You are righteous in all Your ways,

Everything You do is true.

Kind, You are, in all Your works,

Yes, Your trademark is love (Ps 145:17).

With joy I will draw water

from the wells of Your salvation—

from those ever-flowing fountains

from You, the great Giver (Isa 12:3).

PRELUDE TO PRAYER

Prayer Facts:

“It is a vital necessity for Christians to think along the lines on which they pray. The philosophy of prayer is that prayer is the work” Oswald Chambers (ref#157, June 14th).

Reasons for Waiting for GOD:

Because Your stability and faithfulness are great and abundant (Lam 3:23), I will wait for You.

Because You are very compassionate and merciful (James 5:11), I will wait for You.

Because You are always fair and just (Isa 30:18), I will wait for You.

Because You give freedom to the prisoners (Ps 146:7), I will wait for You.

Because You give Your underserved favor to the low and humble and the afflicted (Prov 3:34), I will wait for You.

SUPPLICATION

GENERAL SICKNESS

[The majority of our prayers concern physical health. We all know someone who is dealing with the pain of sickness. Here is an opportunity to pray for them. Fill their name in the blanks.]

HEALING – FOR BODY AND SOUL

…FATHER, since I am led to pray for healing, I must be prepared to preach. If I possess the faith to believe that nothing is impossible with You, I will have ready the Gospel message; for when Your power is displayed, many will be ready to listen.

Your healing is not just restoring health: “Physical healing is real, but it stands in service to a higher and sweeter gift: seeing and savoring the forgiving authority of Christ” Brent Nelson (ref#140). With my eyes I may see only the temporal healing CHRIST gives. But He takes our infirmities and carries away our diseases (Isa 53:4) healing both body and soul by forgiving our sins (Mark 2:5).

As far as physical sickness goes, FATHER, there may be no sin involved. You may allow sickness as a chastisement for disobedience, or for the purpose of discipline, or for no other purpose than the glory of Your grace (John 9:2,3), or to demonstrate the ministry of CHRIST (ref#4, p123-124). The affliction of Job was of grace; Paul’s thorn in the flesh was not of sin (ref#4, p123). But, the reasons for physical sickness are of less importance than the result of healing.

I desire ____ to be healed. I desire (he/she) react to (his/her) physical healing as the two blind men did in Matt 20:34. When JESUS touched their eyes, immediately they regained their sight and followed him. Their following CHRIST demonstrated a spiritual healing as well as the physical healing.

Physical and spiritual healing is never separated in Scripture. It is a package deal. In John’s third letter he prays that his readers may prosper in all things and be in health, just as their soul prospers (3 John 2). COMPASSIONATE FATHER, I ask that You heal ____ both body and soul.

As the result of Your healing, I ask that You give me opportunities to draw attention to CHRIST. Peter and John provide an example for me in Acts three.

PURPOSEFUL FATHER, Don’t let me simply marvel at Your power then walk away and forget it. Your supernatural powers need to be shouted from the house tops. There is nothing greater to talk about. Heal ____ and keep me talking about it as long as I live.

FORMIDABLE

The LORD reigns (Ps 93:1).

You are of great significance

having influence, power and importance (ref#110, p1515).

You are unforgettable (ref#110, p1457).

You are clothed in majesty (Ps 93:1)—

magnificent—

grand and exalted—

rich and sumptuous (ref#110, p814).

Because You have girded Yourself with strength (Ps 93:1),

You have magnificence.

Being stately You possess imposing beauty;

You have richness and splendor (ref#110, p813-814).

For Your mighty deeds (Ps 150:2),

You are formidable (ref#110, p530).

For Your excellent greatness (Ps 150:2),

You are impressive and awe-inspiring (ref#110, p530).

You reign (4x).

CONFESSION

LIVING IN THE SPIRIT LONGER

…FATHER, the presence of the SPIRIT instantly causes a conflict in me. His presence is so satisfying I am tempted to seek Him simply for the feelings His closeness creates. He comes, though, to bring me sanctification through my obedience to His leading. The conflict is, do I obey the SPIRIT or just enjoy His presence?

I know from experience that as soon as I focus on the happiness the SPIRIT brings, He leaves. Haven’t revivals through the ages been short-lived because men have sought SPIRIT-filled joy instead of obedience? Hasn’t the enemy freely imitated the SPIRIT because men have longed for only the blessings the SPIRIT brings?

This life with the SPIRIT is not about happiness although He enables me to experience unimaginable joy. It is about submission—letting You, FATHER, do as You please. The SPIRIT provides Your sanctification for me—He provides what is needed for my holiness; I simply must follow Him.

I pray for the SPIRIT to conquer my life. Send out Your SPIRIT, FATHER, to take me to Your habitation—the place where Your glory dwells (Ps 26:8).

WAIT ON THE LORD

You are LORD OF HOSTS,

I will regard You as holy.

You will be my fear all day long

and You will be my dread (Isa 8:13).

I shall sing to You, “Praise the Lord” (Jer 20:13)!

You, who made the earth by Your great power;

You established the world by Your wisdom;

and by Your understanding stretched out the heavens (Jer 51:15).

You, who formed the mountains and created the wind,

and declared to man what is his thought,

You tread on the heights of the earth—

THE GOD OF HOSTS is Your name (Amos 4:13).

For from days of old, yes,

no one has heard or perceived by ear,

nor has any eye seen a GOD besides You,

who acts as I wait for You (Isa 64:4).

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;

teach me your paths.

Lead me in your truth and teach me (Ps 25:4-5).

None who wait for you shall be put to shame (Ps 25:3).

PRELUDE TO PRAYER

Prayer Facts:

“There is nothing secret about communion with God. If we live a holy life before God, broken of our pride and self-will, crying out for grace, then we will be in communion with God. It is really that simple” Paul E. Miller (ref#62, p247).

Reasons for Waiting for GOD:

Because You do not forsake those who seek You (Ps 9:10), I will wait for You.

Because You make a covering over those who take refuge in You and defend them (Ps 5:11), I will wait for You.

Because You will cause Your ear to hear the desires and the longing of the humble and oppressed, and will prepare and strengthen and direct their hearts (Ps 10:17), I will wait for You.

GENERAL TRIBULATION

[We all can think of a Christian sister or brother experiencing so much affliction they may not be able to pray for themselves. Here’s an opportunity to pray for them. Fill their name in the blanks.]

PERMANENT BLESSINGS

Calamity can wash ____ out to sea when everything before (him/her) begins shifting. Change frightens. Even one change in life can be enough to take (his/her) eyes off You, FATHER—You, the unchangeable GOD.

FATHER, although ____ is experiencing change, You abide evermore the same. The streams of Your love are as “deep, as broad, and as full as ever” Charles Spurgeon (ref#34, July 1st AM).

Since ____’s stability is never sure, propel (his/her) thoughts toward the things that cannot be shaken (Heb 12:27). Certainly a short amount of reminiscing about You can cover over (his/her) unstable state and replace it with thanksgiving.

Move ____ to stand at the foot of the cross trusting alone in the merits of JESUS’ blood. Does (he/she) not have solid assurances that Your love will keep (him/her) until the end (Jude 24)?

You are (his/her) FATHER!—who gives good gifts to (him/her) when (he/she) asks You (Matt 7:11). You have a permanent house for (him/her) in the heavens (John 14:2). You not only love (him/her) through Your Son, but You, Yourself love (him/her) (John 16:27). FATHER, You are (his/her) GOD and Rock of salvation (Ps 89:26).

The love of Your Son stands also as a permanent blessing to ____. Nothing can affect the strength of His affectionate nature. (He/She) is His desire (Song 7:10). There is no creature or circumstance that can separate (him/her) from His love (Rom 8:35).

“…let us …not…be cast down by what may happen in this…fleeting state of time….we will see the wreck of everything earthborn, and yet rejoice in the God of our salvation” Charles Spurgeon (ref#34, June 22nd PM).

Change is here for ____; inspire (him/her) to embrace You, LORD. You are (his/her) unchangeable GOD.
