THANKSGIVING

INAPPREHENSIBLE

You are inapprehensible to me.

You cannot be fathomed, grasped—

assimilated or comprehended (ref#110, p680).

 

Because You inhabit eternity (Isa 57:15),

You are eternally ageless (ref#110, p24),

immutable—

never changing or varying (ref#110, p675).

 

Because You are high and lifted up (Isa 57:15),

You are inapproachable (ref#110, p681)—

beyond bounds—

unrestrained and excessive (ref#110, p482).

 

Because You dwell in a holy place

and also with him who is contrite (Isa 57:15),

You are undescribable (ref#110, p1456);

Your steadfast love is forever (Ps 103:17).

I CANNOT DO WHAT YOU DO BUT YOU WILL NOT DO WHAT I CAN DO

screen-shot-2017-02-21-at-2-26-03-pm…FATHER, I am a member of Your household, through CHRIST.   I am no longer a stranger and an alien but a citizen of Your kingdom (Eph 2:18-19).

You have drawn me to Yourself, I am unable to draw myself to You. I cannot do what You do, but You will not do what I can do. You, FATHER, save and sanctify, but You will not give me good habits or make me walk aright. I, by faith, must work out the salvation You worked in (ref#7, May 10th). I am responsible; You will judge me according to Your justice.

You have given me the power to make personal decisions, yet You control the actions I choose. You have conferred responsibility on me for my thoughts, words, and deeds (ref#56, p1221, “God Reigns: Divine Sovereignty”) yet You are continually sovereign.

“Numerous biblical passages integrate the sovereignty of God and the moral responsibility of human beings without allowing the predeterminate will of God to be used as an excuse for moral evil (Esth 4:13-14; Joel 2:32; Matt 26:24-25; Acts 2:23)” The Reformation Study Bible (ref#56, p1159, [Ezek 14:9]).

FATHER, compel me not to think that because You have chosen me that I have no responsibility.

“…You who save those who trust in You…” (Ps 17:7 NKJV).

 

“O Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth” (Ps 8:9 ESV).

“Now, O my God, let your eyes be open

and your ears attentive to the prayer of this place” (2 Chron 6:40 ESV).

Prayer Facts:

“In prayer all things here below vanish, and nothing seems important but holiness of heart and the salvation of others” The Valley of Vision (ref#76, p146).

Reasons for Waiting for GOD:

Because You chose me, actually picked me out for Yourself as Your own in CHRIST before the foundations of the world (Eph 1:4), I will wait for You

Because You are to me a GOD of deliverance and salvation, setting me free (Ps 68:20), I will wait for You.

Because You bear my burdens and carry me day by day (Ps 68:19), I will wait for You.

Because You abide (live and remain) in me and Your love is brought to completion in me (1 John 4:12), I will wait for You.
